I was really excited to receive a copy of this with its supporting materials. Unlike others, I’ve never read any of Neil Lancasters work before so it was a brand new introduction for me. What I can say is, this really doesn’t disappoint! Great story telling, clever and developed characters - amazing really. Going off other reviews, I think this is the norm for Lancaster.
There’s some sensitive matters to this novel, with an abduction of a child which is always very problematic and makes for difficult reading. However, I do think that this has been handled well and sophisticatedly.
Overall, a really clever book and a really appealing genre that means this will be quite popular. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for more of Lancaster’s writings in future. It’s obvious why he’s got such a popular and devoted fanbase. A great read for everyone!
