I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to the end. Starting with Affi being on a train to the Scottish countryside carrying a concealed package that Jetmir, part of a violent Albanian gang had instructed her to deliver. Unbeknown to her she was being followed by the police and was stopped before the end of her journey. Going on three years you find Affi who is now fostered by a loving couple and is settling down and getting used to her freedom and safety.
Ds Max Craigie joins the investigating team when Affi is taken back by the Albanians who feel she owes them. It is decided she will be put to work in a brothel to pay back what was lost to them years before.
DC Max Craigie works against the clock to not only find Affi but to uncover a leak somewhere within the law enforcement team.
The author really set the scene when describing young Affi and how she looked and felt along with people who trafficked her.
All in all a fantastic read.
