I was excited to read this book as I had not read any previous novels by the author before. The synopsis sounded like a good thrilling read, and the cover drew me in. However, whilst I did overall enjoy the book, I did find it quite predictable and 'convenient' in places.
I felt that the character development of Afrodita was good, and the 'villains' of the story were portrayed perfectly. The story-line was kind of as expected, and I didn't find myself being that surprised by any of the twists/developments. I didn't grow to like any of the other main characters that much, and felt there could have been more about their own journeys involved somewhere in the book. I also felt that the ending was slightly weak and predictable.
I would still recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thriller, and perhaps I am being slightly harsh in my review! I have also not read the other 3 books in the series, so perhaps this would make a difference to the read.
