I have not read any of the other books in this detective series by Neil Lancaster but I am happy to report that I probably will do so now after reading this book. The pacing is great, it has a perfect level of action and there are lots of dark undertones which I liked. I really enjoyed the way that the author pitched everything, I didn’t anticipate any of the twists and turns and it kept me engaged throughout. It had excitement, action, and a good grasp of police crime procedures and protocols and I felt that it was very sympathetic to the horror of trafficking victims and their exploitation. The characters are strong and believable and we get a good feel for them and their surroundings. Overall a very enjoyable read and looks like a very interesting series overall.
