Blood runs cold is a brilliant police procedural focusing on some harrowing topics.
I have not read the previous books in the series but this did not matter one bit. The characters were great and added some much needed light relief to some tough subjects!
People trafficking is never going to be light reading but this book, in my opinion, managed to strike the right balance between dealing with the issues in a real but sensitive way. There are gory aspects of the book but only those essential to the storyline.
The story line was gripping and fast paced. I loved the dynamics between characters. I learnt a lot about what can and cannot be traced/tracked or revealed from a smart phone!
The tension builds throughout the book, which is helped by nice short chapters. I loved the suspense of who was the leak.
A scary look at the gang world and how easily it seems they can infiltrate all levels of society!
