This is a very exciting book which held my attention from the first page.
It tells the story of Affi ,a young Albanian girl caught up in drug trafficking in Scotland.
The story moves from her initially being rescued and fostered in the Highlands by a family to her capture by a terrifying Albanian gang and the Highland police involvement in tracking her down.
As the story progresses the police characters in the book reveal more about their own personalities and foibles adding a lot of human interest to the plot as you get to know them and how their thought processes work.
The book also continues to tell Affi's story as she is locked up and terrified that she wont escape her kidnappers twice.
The police realise that this kidnap is only part of a huge kidnapping and trafficking gang operating in Scotland.The pace of the story really ramps up as it becomes apparent there is an informant operating from within the police force
