I've discovered a new crime series to get my teeth in
This is the first book by Neil Lancaster that I have read and it certainly won't be the last. I can't wait to get my hands on the three earlier books in this series and read the rest of the DS Max Craigie series. I love it when I find a new author I love and discover they have a back catalogue that I can devour.
Blood Runs Cold is a book about an Albanian teenager called Afrodita who is trafficked to the United Kingdom and forced to become a drugs mule. She is rescued by the police and is fostered by a couple in the Scottish Highlands. Several years later her traffickers track her down and kidnap her so she can 'repay her debt'. DS Max Craigie becomes involved in her case and what follows is a story I couldn't put down.
Based on this book alone I would say that the Max Craigie series would appeal to fans of the Peter James police series featuring Roy Grace.
