Blood Runs Cold is a thriller from the DS Max Carnegie series by Neil Lancaster. I really enjoyed this novel and did not have to have read any of the earlier novels as it was its own full story. It was about a police officer investigating a missing girl who stumbles on a much bigger crime and more deadly players than what he realises.
Max's wife is a solicitor and one of her clients a young trafficking victim goes missing on her 15th birthday. Max and his team start to look into but come across leaks within the police and government agencies. There is also deadly Algerian gangsters and other criminals.
The story kept me absorbed all the way through the book, I really liked the different characters on Max's team and was rooting for them all the way through.
I would like to read another of this series to see if it is just as enjoyable. I would recommend to anyone looking for an exciting crime novel.
