Put plainly, this was just not my cup of tea. There was something about the writing style itself that I just couldn't get on with, despite wanting to actually know the story - I'ma huge fan of historical novels.
The cover is gorgeous though, and it is what prompted me to pick it up in the first place. I love that tagline.
