Truth be told, I'm not a fan of historical fiction. I found 'The Miniaturist' quite charming, but that's about it.
I like the idea thata it's mixing facts with fiction, as readers can go in with prior knowledge and context. However, the blurb hints at lots of different characters to keep track of, which is not one of my personal preferences
In all honesty, this book really doesn't seem my cup of tea, but that doesn't mean I think it will be a bad read.
