I have not read anything by this author before but I did enjoy his style of writing it read like a daily diary of events then all of a sudden it skips two years new job new wife and he continues where he has left off. Lovely main character in Lieutenant Blood and a proper gent of his day at the same time an action hero . Well researched into period fiction and the plot was intense at times and very apt to the historical time where plots treason and treachery were an everyday occurrence . Angus Donald has done his homework into the King James ,William of Orange and the rest of Europe in the 17th Century and portrays the uprising and unrest of the nation at the timing of Williams invasion .
