This book is written in a way confident younger readers will love. The main character, Bob, is so funny and I love his relationship with his dad, I can literally seeing him rolling his eyes at his dad’s (uncool?) antics. It is so relatable. He is in a band with his mates and think they are good enough to win a local talent competition at the school, although the girl next door thinks they would do better with her joining them. But they are of an age where they are not sure “a girl” can add anything to the ensemble. You have to love the positivity and confidence Bob and his mates have about winning the competition. Add to this mix that Bob suddenly finds himself jumping into the future and a disastrous scenario of what will happen if they don’t win the competition, the urgency to win is even more important. A fun tale of youngsters trying different ways to try to secure the win.
