Paige Turner is sixteen and works beside her best friend Holly in a small town bookshop. Things couldn't be any better right? Wrong. They get the news that they little shop is going to be closed down and the building demolished for new buildings and new ideas.

So what would you do to save the thing you loved the most?

A short and quirky read, Bookshop girl follows Paige as she campaigns and fights for her job and her favorite place in the town, we follow her through the rough moments of her friendship with Holly, through the heart racing moments of a possible new love with the mysterious Blaine. Through the laughter of quiet remarks and life drawing classes and through to the final moments, where the bookshops fate hang in the hands of the higher ups.
Has Paige and Holly done enough to save their jobs and the jobs of their coworkers, or are they going have to try and find a new job once the doors to the shop closes forever?

Chloe Coles brings outs the fun and all the little things that a sixteen year old girl goes through in her life, from the moment of choosing her future to the little moments where their hearts race at the thought of kissing a gorgeous boy.
I received Bookshop girl through Readers first in exchange for an honest review and I can honestly say that I didn't want to put this book down, no matter how small it was, I was hooked from the get go, and only had to put it down when it was clear that I needed to actually sleep to be a functional human being.

Quirky and fun, Bookshop girl seems more for the younger side of the YA genre, but even at 24, I enjoyed the lightheartedness of the book. The pace is easy to get along with and even with the odd language here and there which would probably make more sense to the younger generation, I can't wait until the second installment is released and I can read it to carry on with Paige and Holly's adventure with the bookstore and their future.
