'Bookshop Girl' deals with two different topics: First, the life of a teenage girl who tries to find her way and hopefully her perfect match. And secondly, the important topic of the closing of bookshops. Both works perfectly together and it is also a good way to make younger readers aware of this current problem.
Concerning the actual book, I am a bit torn. The style is pretty much young and hip - it definitely represents the way younger people interact with each other. But for the characters, I am not that convinced. They are not really deep and full of different characteristics, but unfortunately a bit flat and boring.
But apart from that I am really into the idea of trying to save bookshops through literature!
