I did read this book to the end, on a number of occasions I nearly passed it over to my two teenage girls to read, but I persevered. It had its funny moments, I loved the still life classes and on occasion I did laugh out loud at the girly comedy. Overall the plot was thin, but the theme of book lovers fighting for the right to keep literature in their town was good. A strong message which needs telling, one that crosses all ages groups and social classes- books are a window into another world and everyone should have access to them. I really like a happy ending and so wasn’t disappointed with the slight twist in the ending of this tale. It was a lovely quick read- better suited to my teenage girls though.
