It was very easy to read and is very lighthearted. The characters instantly become likeable and you can create a relationship with their personality. It’s a very ‘british’ book so it is relatable and common. The structure flows nicely, allowing a smooth read. The element of friendship is strong which I like as it feels like a heartwarming book. I would definitely buy this book and continue reading it to see if the characters end up saving the book shop. There is also a sense of romance in this opening extract which keeps the reader keen to know where the relationships might go. The language used seems up to date with the language that teenagers use in real life, such as a variety of different slangs and abbreviations of phrases, a very good start to what could be a very good book!
