A great book for children around nine, as the main character is this age. Bronte Tempestra is a real daydreamer and is so happy that her daydreams are all coming true. She is finally allowed to go to knight school. Then, when she finds out she is allowed to go she becomes super nervous!
Although Bronte has met a nice, kind boy in her class, she finds herself alone in her dorm as she is the only girl to enrol at the school. She misses her best friend and reminisces about how she met her at their old school. Soon though, she is really busy trying to save her kingdom.
Bronte has always had a thing for the Lightning Steads - magical horses in the sky who protect the kingdom from destruction by troll. Now she has a chance to help the horses.

This book contains grumpy teachers, vein teachers, mean bullies, helpful creatures and proud creatures!

There is a map, a diagram of the school, letters between Bronte and her friend and excerpts from Brontes' diary -all before the story even starts! The story is complemented by wonderful pictures throughout.
