The cover is well illustrated and depicts what is to come in the story.I like that there are illustrations in the book, which is a nice touch for younger readers. But for me I like to use my imagination to visualise the characters, scene, story etc.
I found the story to be at a good pace and we are introduced to the characters quickly.
The main character is Bronte Tempestra who is a pointless princess as she has lots of brothers. All she wants to be is a knight.
So when the knight school opens to let girls in,she begs her parents to go.
Weird things start to happen, the lighting steeds have gone missing.
No one at knight school seems to be bothered and to Bronte, the knights all seem lazy.
Bronte is determined to find out what is happening and sets out on a quest. After all knights are there to protect the Kingdom.
This is a lovely read with a bit of friendship, mystery, magic and adventure thrown in.
