Pulsating with girl power!
Bronte Tempestra is a feisty young princess who is overjoyed to have, finally, been accepted at knight school. She's an excellent character to spark the imagination of young female readers (and to prove to the boys that girls can be heroes too).
There certainly is a lot to love in this book, from the big bold type to the stunning illustrations peppered throughout, this story is full of heart and fabulous characters.
Bronte is utterly fearless and soon "persuades" her new best friend, Tonkins, to be a willing sidekick to her adventures. Because things are not as they should be and none of the adults seem to notice/care.
I love the maps at the beginning of the book, which really help bring Bronte's world alive and the mythical beasts that form much of the storyline are also a complete joy.
