I thought this might be a bit like watching an episode of All Creatures Great and Small but in fact it has a lot more depth than that. I really liked the period in which it's set and the author's insights into the difference in culture between Canada and England in the 1970s. I laughed when a client complains not about Ben's expertise in treating her pet but what he's wearing on his feet. I think this would be a fun read but with some serious aspects as well.
