The introduction annoyed me as the author seemed to think Knightsbridge was representative of the whole of the UK but once acknowledging his error, I found it a fond nostalgia trip, having grown up in the 70s with memories of Harrods pet department. A few niggles - Radio Luxembourg did not broadcast in the day in the UK - but overall if the condescension to the UK way of life is held in check, this could be a good read
