This book was exactly how I imagined it, witty, funny and interesting with a couple of slightly sadder parts dabbled throughout. I enjoyed listening to Bruce’s story of moving from Canada to the UK, a move which you would presume was easy due to there being negligible language differences but it sounds like a bigger culture shock than you would think!
I found it massively intriguing to learn about veterinary practices both back in the day and more recently, being a dog owner myself it was really provided an eye opening perspective on things that I may expect during my pets life.
Ultimately it wasn’t my favourite book i read of 2020 but I do think it’s most definitely worth a read if you’re even remotely interested in animals or memoirs or anything in between. It did make me laugh in parts especially when learning of the quirks of us British people from an ‘outsiders’ perspective!
