Bruce Fogle writes a memoir about his arrival from Canada to London and we were able to get a glimpse of the 1970s of Bruce working as a vet.

The stories about how Bruce helping the different animals were very interesting, I like how he references the veterinary practices that would happen now compared to back then. It shows how much has developed over the years and what has changed, an example of this is that I did not know Harrods sold exotic animals.

As well as learning about animals, I learnt a lot about Bruce Fogle and it was nice to see his relationship develop with his wife Julie. After reading the book I wanted to find out more about his family and I had not realise that his son is Ben Fogle is the TV presenter we see on TV today!

The writing style was easy to read and I did enjoy it however I felt that there were slow parts in the book. I'm not sure whether this is because it's not something I'd pick up and is more suited for people who like memoirs, 1970s and/or veterinary lingo.
