I Love It!
This book tales the the work of vet, Bruce Fogle in the 1970s. As someone who is a fan of memoirs, especially medical or veterinary ones, I think this would be a great read! (In fact, it does remind me of Adam Kay’s “This Is Going To Hurt”, one of my favourites). Bruce Fogle arrives in London on a scholarship in the 1970’s from Canada, so as well as trying to have to perform well as a vet, he is adapting to a new culture which was ever changing in this decade. I love this type of memoir as we can see how far we have come as society in the context of a veterinary setting and how treatment has evolved for the friends we love most. From the beginning, I personally was intrigued, it seems quite easily read and snappy which is perfect for this time of year if you ask me when you want to sit down and read a book in front of the fire. I am very interested in the character of Fogle himself and what veterinary challenges he will meet along the way.
