As a vet student myself, I have read pretty much all the veterinary non-fiction/story-type books out there, and generally love them all! Bruce Fogle's 'Call The Vet' did not disappoint.
I loved reading about how different things were back when Bruce started practicing as a vet (1970s) in London, and found some of the stories both shocking (e.g. Harrod's pet store) and heart-warming at the same time. It was really interesting to read about Bruce's history, having ventured to England from his home in Canada, and the comparisons between these areas. I liked the chapter sizes and the amount of stories Bruce included, and the underlying love of working as a vet and treating animals that must underpin all of these books. Some addition of photographs, or even drawings, would have been nice, but I still enjoyed reading this all the same.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves animals, or enjoys learning about the veterinary career. 5 stars from me!
