Not for me
I remember entering the raffle for this book because I'm a big animal lover, and I am a fan of Bruce Fogle's son. Sadly it just didn't entice me to read further and I ended up not finishing it. I found parts of this book interesting, especially getting a glimpse of what it was like in 1970s London dealing with an array of exotic animals that you would expect to see in a zoo rather than in the city or in a place like Harrods. There sadly was not enough there for me to get that excitement to pick the book back up. I felt like it was lacking something and felt slow in parts.
I would say this book would be more appreciated for those who work in the veterinary world or have a keen interest/ common knowledge in it. It did show how different our veterinary services have evolved and how we have a better understanding and respect for animals now.
Sadly this just wasn't my kind of book.
