Unfortunately I did not finish this book. I liked the premise but the author annoyed me and I didn't think his stories, although interesting were written very well. Too much time was spent on talking about the people and places as opposed to getting on with the funny animal stories! I also didn't like that in the introduction the author said it was hard to understand British people! I don't associate with the stereotype he described. It was interesting to read about how different things were in the 70's like Harrods and the alligator being there!
I was very sorry to not finish it as I really wanted to enjoy it. I normally love real life memoirs about this sort of thing so I was sad to give up on it.
Cover is nice and suits the book and so does the title.
Perhaps it needs an editor's edit to weedle out the description and crack on with the stories!
