I am an avid reader of historical fiction. The cover did not immediately grab me but the tag line intrigued me.
I really enjoyed reading the first 3 chapters and this is a book that is going straight on my 'to be read' list. I loved the beautiful, descriptive writing. The first chapter was a surprisingly heartbreaking start but ensured I was gripped from the very beginning.
