As a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice, I was very intrigued by the concept of this book. It will be interesting to hear more about Charlotte, a character who is underused in the original novel but leaves a significant impression. The prologue was amusing and showed the author can capture Austen's wit well while using a more contemporary writing style that is more accessible to general readers. The beginning of the present day story hits you with a tragedy that hits you in the heart and is an interesting starting point to explore the emotions and thought processes of Charlotte. There are also other plot points that are starting to be hinted at that which have the potential to be interesting such as a growing fondness between Charlotte and Mr Collins. I'm interested to see Helen Moffett's take on this character.
