An interesting book . This is a book that imagines what Charlotte Lucas’ life would have been like after she got married and also she reflects back on her time with Elisabeth and co before they were married and I enjoyed seeing that side of things from her point of view. I enjoyed a peek of her in married life as well as Elisabeth and Darcy. I also thought it broached well topics such as child loss and miscarriage as well as what it would have been like to be a women in those times. I loved the character of Anne de Burg in this also. However.... something happened in the book that I didn’t like and I didn’t like the ending so it was a mixed bag for me. I have also, like the author been interested in the character of Charlotte and thought that Elisabeth definitely was too harsh with her when she married for convenience instead of love. i loved it so far.
