I am a massive lover of Pride and Prejudice, I studied it for education and have read it for pleasure many times. I was so excited to read this book and it’s take on the Charlotte Lucas story but I wanted it to be good, I needed it to grab me and keep me in a bubble just like P & P did, I wanted to be enthralled by the story and the characters. It did all of those things and more! It was wonderful picking up with Charlotte Collins a few years into her marriage, due to her sufferings and those of her great friend Lizzy (Mrs Darcy) we get to take a trip to Pemberley where we learn much more about the early years of Mrs Collins marriage and catch up with the Darcys’ story. I enjoyed this so much!
