I had hoped to re-read Pride and Prejudice before reading Charlotte, but I found myself impatient and dived right in.
The first few chapters are heartbreaking, and remind you of the era in which this book is set in regards to the lack of modern medicine. It even highlights once more the role of a woman in the era and while things are not perfect in 2020, it makes you glad to have more options now.
This book is a great sequal to P&P, and I liked how it was not just about Charlotte and brought back some brilliant characters and developed their story. This isn't the easiest text to read, you want a quiet room and your full attention to fully wrap your head around the change in language for it.
This could easily be adapted into a movie or a standalone tv series, of which I would readily watch. Well worth a read!
