I love this book! Its been about 2 years since I read it (I know I know, I'm a bit late to the review party), but its still a book I think about regularly.
Moffett brings us back into the world of Pride and Prejudice, and allows us to get a more detailed insight into the life of Charlotte Lucas, 7 years after she marries the infamous Mr Collins.
Hers was a marriage based on convenience and survival, rather than that of the marriage of her best friend and confidant Elizabeth Bennett. Who also returns and features in this book.
Moffett developed the characters into believable, older versions of those who we loved from Pride and Prejudice, and how they coped with the realities of marriage in Georgian times, once the romance and excitement of the original came to an end.
A very enjoyable book for anyone who loves Jane Austen and the classic P&P, grab a cup of tea, and catch up with our old friends!
