a great book! It is a spin off for 'pride and prejudice' by Jane Austen and is about how she bypasses the opinion of her having no prospects. This book shows Charlotte to be a strong, kind and intelligent woman who only wants to ensure her daughters grow up happy and secure financially. The book was slightly predictable but what great book isn't. the best thing is you don't even have to read pride and prejudice beforehand to read this. great opening to the book, although the ending isn't the best. Moffett attempts to write in a similar style to Austen and although it isn't identical it is similar enough. the cover of the book is pretty disappointing and could've been improved to be more fitting to the post Austen era. The love story between Charlotte and Jacob was nicely executed and I liked that this book featured this romance as just one of many sub plots. The relationship between Charlotte and Anne was a particular highlight for me.
