Pride and Prejudice have to be one of my all-time favourite books. I studied it in school, I have watched the movie, I genuinely love it, so when I saw this book I was beyond excited. The cover was also a bonus however it fell flat for me I have to admit.

This book takes us to charlottes POV. If you have never read Pride and Prejudice before, Charlotte is Elizabeth Bennets best friend. She marries Mr Collins, who happens to be Elizabeths cousin and also a clergyman. The start of the book was gripping, it explores Charlotte's marriage to Mr.Collins and how they cope with the death of their son. Shortly after Charlotte visits Mr and Mrs Darcy, where she meets Rosenstein. Sparks began to fly between these two characters.

As much as I loved revisiting these characters, this book fell flat for me. Firstly there were a few moments where I thought Charlotte wouldn't behave like that. It was completely out of character. As much as I loved the writer's ability to capture the world, its smells and sounds, I will admit, at times I wanted the story to move a little faster.
On a positive note, I enjoyed Charlotte's flashbacks and her point of view on certain events that were important in the book Pride and Prejudice. I loved the writing technique, there was a mixture of modern-day writing yet also capturing Jane Austen's words perfectly.

Overall I enjoyed the concept of this book especially revisiting the main characters, however, I didn't enjoy the inconsistency of Charlotte's character.

Thank you to readers first for providing me with this book in exchange with an honest review.
