This is a historical fiction that continues from the story of 'Pride and prejudice' by Jane Austen but focuses more on the
character, Charlotte Lucas.

The story begins with Charlotte who had married the Clergyman, Mr Collins and they had three children. Unfortunately, their only son Tom passes away and she is left with not only grief but the determination of making sure her daughters have security in their future without an heir. She uses guidance from Lady Catherine as well as her daughter to support her.

I liked the front cover, the letter with the wax sealed on a patterned blue floral plate as it has the main character focused, I also liked how other characters from 'Pride and Prejudice' were included. I didn't like the part when Charlotte has an affair because I thought she was quite content with the love and life that Mr Collins has given her.
So I didn't particularly like her character.
