The cover didnt wow me when I saw it online but it really does make a beautiful hardback and I really enjoyed this book.
The first few chapters of this book are absolutely heartbreaking as we learn that Charlotte's beloved youngest child Tom has died. I really felt Charlotte's grief and this gripped me from the start.
I loved seeing how this story was interwoven with Austen's Pride and Prejudice and found myself really liking Charlotte, Mr Collins and Anne de Bourgh. These are brilliantly written characters with very distinct characters.
The love story between Charlotte and Jacob was nicely executed and I liked that this book featured this romance as just one of many sub plots. The relationship between Charlotte and Anne was a particular highlight for me.
