It seems fabulous! The way it carries on from Pride and Prejudice seems effortless - the characters that feature are explored in more detail and feel more personal. It's hard carrying on from what is such a brilliant classic, but Charlotte is brilliant. You really feel for her, as you learn about her past and her motives, and get to know her properly, from her own point of view - which really brings a fresh outlook to the story. The author has done a splendid job of portraying what it was like in those days, where only male heirs could inherit land, and the pressure if your only heirs were girls.
The plot is exciting and endearing, and we feel sympathy and excitement at different parts. The writer has really brought the characters to live!
After reading the first 30 pages, I feel excited to read more and find out all about what happened and why!
