Read this with high hopes as I quite enjoy spin offs of other famous stories.
It gives readers a chance to explore characters that might otherwise be overlooked but for me this one just didn't work too well.
I personally found the character of Charlotte quite annoying.
It's heavily hinted that she married as a way of expediency as many women of the time did and then after the death of their child she falls for another man while on a visit to her friend Elizabeth Darcy.
I don't know what it was but the whole thing just didn't really work for me.
She seemed to grieve for Tom then fall for a man as soon as she arrived at Elizabeth's home.
I know this will probably be popular with a lot of Austen fans but personally it just wasn't my cup of tea.
