I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this book. I loved Pride and Prejudice so I suppose I was off to a good start. The book was certainly in homage to Jane Austen but it was clearly the author's book, it still had her own style. The story was enjoyable, a pleasant and easy. I'm glad there was a recap, from Charlotte's point of view, as to what happened in Pride & Prejudice as I had forgotten some bits. Charlotte was brought to life, a strong woman and struggling with the customs of her time. The men were still at times laughable, deliberately so, but with affection. And love still crept in! Even if you haven't read it, this book stands on its own, definitely worth a read. Highly recommend.
