Having read that this was linked to Pride and Prejudice I had high hopes for the characters being of similar nature. However , even just a few pages into this book I soon found out this was not to be the case. Elizabeth has a hard life with multiple still births and problems with pregnancy. She also has to cope with the death and the all consuming grief of her four year old son. The relationship between Charlotte and her husband is somewhat odd - no chemistry and no fireworks. Considering the characters are well known favourites from a book lots of people love and adore , the plot is totally amiss and half the time the story makes no sense. I found Mr Collins to be a perfectly annoyable and dislikable person. Not a book I would recommend.
