What a wonderful book. It’s so nice to read about the Darcy family once more. But to read about them from another point of view was such a breath of fresh air. Charlotte was such a small character in pride and prejudice that I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, it was such a good read I feel like I have revisited friends as I read this book.
Charlotte is such a complex character, she looks plain and simple, but really she is a dark horse. This book shines a light on the wise women she was. Her strange kindnesses, sad loss and passionate under tones all lead to a very pleasing book. The historical tone is well matched to the written tones of pride and prejudice so it was not disappointing in any way.
