I had a tough time following this narrative, perhaps because I am not accustomed to fantasy novels. I felt that the story was rather often interrupted by explanations about the role/magic of the main character, and so it was a little difficult to stay focused on the plot. I didn't really get interested in this story and didn't really enjoy the humour either - it's not for me.
