I'm coming at a disadvantage starting this one in book 3.
The first few chapters are good, but it definitely feels like you are missing a lot of backstory into what these characters have been through together and have been plunked down midway through a story - how did they get where they are, who is chasing them? They feel like they are used to each other's company - so we've missed the getting to know you section of the story.
For completist sake i am going to have to get the first 2 books in this series and read them before i can go any further with this (quite sneaky i suppose sending out book 3 as it sort of ensures sales of the first 2 as well to get up to speed).
The characters are interesting, the world seems well mapped out and the action in the opening was fast paced so i will definitely want to read more of this series, just in the correct order.
