At first read the book looks like it will be a charming feel good tale of two lonely people thrown together by circumstance.

The author has managed to flesh out the two main protagonists well in the opening chapters, and it is a refreshing change for it not to be set in a city. The dialogue is well thought out, and creates some interesting moments between Penny and Henry.

I am looking forward to discovering more about mysterious Daisy, and why she has accompanied Henry to Devon ( my bet is a younger sibling or god-daughter at the moment!) and learning more about the antics of Bernard the dog. All in all it looks like it will be a nice cosy read with some funny and tender moments, fabulous descriptions of the beautiful Devon contryside and coast; and a few potentially hilarious misunderstandings thrown in for good measure.
