Reading this Christmas based book in a sunny garden in September was always going to feel weird but this is one of those Christmas books that can be read at any time of the year and will still give you that warm, fuzzy, wonderful feeling that can't help but leave you smiling.

Penny lives at Lilac Cottage with her big, dopey dog called Bernard and as a ice-sculptor she leads a very solitary life so when she decides to rent out the annexe she's hoping that the new people will become new friends as so many of her old friends have moved on with their lives and she's feeling rather stuck and forgotten about. Although her love life, or lack of it, is one of the main topics in the village of White Cliff Bay which you soon learn is a place where everybody knows everybodys business!!

Henry and Daisy are the new arrivals and it is thought they are a young married couple, so when the rather handsome, but angry Henry arrives on moving day alone and displays some rather flirty behaviour Penny does begin to form her own opinion of him. But there is an instant attraction between the 2 of them and it immediately gets you hooked whatever his current marital status!

It soon transpires that things arent as others presumed between Henry and Daisy and the story of how they settle into village life and into the life of Penny and Bernard is heartwarming and had me turning the pages quicker and quicker wanting to find out what would happen next!

This was a wonderful, feel good romance that sweeps you along with lots of fun and sexy moments thrown in for good measure! I really can't wait for the second installment - Snowflakes in Silver Cove - to discover more! And if i could just find my own Henry I'd be a very happy girl!!
