For lovers of romance
Contemporary romance is not the genre that I usually choose to read however I did enjoy this book.
The storyline about a single parent Dad, Henry, and his teenage daughter, Daisy, renting part of Lilac Cottage from love-damaged, Penny, is somewhat predictable but nevertheless a heart warming tale.
I enjoyed learning about Penny's art of ice sculpting which was described in great detail. The small town setting where everybody knows everyone else's secrets but all rally round when help is required were successfully portrayed. Other matters like sexual harassment were dealt with quickly and rather unconvincingly.
Although the book is base in a small town in the run up to Christmas, I read it during a July heatwave and still enjoyed it!
