This is a series of books set around the White Cliff Bay area and Christmas at Lilac Cottage is the first.
I really loved the descriptions of the area, it just sounded like somewhere I would up sticks and move to tomorrow if given the chance.
The main character is Penny, who is an Ice Sculptor (not a career I had read too much about!) and the new neighbours who move in next to her. Henry is very aloof and sometimes a bit rude but I enjoyed finding out more about his character and watching him slowly coming out of his shell. Daisy is his young daughter (there are a few misunderstandings originally!) who becomes close to Penny.
I have read other books in this series and they are just as charming as this one. One of my favourites by this author is 'The Guestbook' and I would recommend her books as they are simply too nice to miss.
