Every Christmas I insist on reading at least one lovey Christmas book and watch hundreds of Christmas movies! It has become tradition. This book was last year’s choice! The front cover literally says “a perfect romance to curl up by the fire with” and I did just that! Penny Meadows is such a lovely character, someone you wish you were best friends with. Henry appears to be this slightly annoying type but right from the start you can’t help but love him. And Daisy. Daisy is just wonderful! Not only is it a beautifully romantic, dream-like love story, but it really opened my eyes to the business of ice carving. Sounds daft but now I can’t see an ice sculpture without thinking about the work and detail that’s goes into the job, all thanks to the descriptions throughout this book. Beautiful and well written. Definitely worth the read! But make sure you save it for Christmas when you can sit besides the tree with some hot chocolate!
