I've read lots of books about the Resistance, it is a subject that fascinates me , having lived in Jersey & Brittany, but many novels read like a history lesson- this on the other hand was compelling and human and I raced through it, wanting to know more.
The cover feels very 40s, which I liked & I ignored the list of characters as that would have put me off buying it, if I'd picked it up in a bookshop- though maybe it comes in useful later in the story.
